Once again, Walden Cluster enjoyed a fun Halloween! Thanks to all who participated, including Jacinta, who organized this event, the Fairfax County Fire Department, who visited the neighborhood and led the Halloween parade, and everyone who decorated the playground or provided goodies. Reston Association has selected Walden Cluster’s Halloween Parade and Party as the neighborhood association event of the year. In a message sent to cluster members, the Walden Cluster board states, “Jacinta Jones and Jami Andrews are to be applauded for their creativity and commitment in hosting this fun-for-all-ages Walden community event. We wish to thank them for their service and congratulate them on this recognition.”
Hope everyone enjoyed your Halloween! Here are pictures from the neighborhood Halloween party. You can click on any picture for a larger view.
Thanks to our organizers, Jami and Jacinta, as well as our photographer, Kathryn!
In a joint service project with Boy Scout Troop 1313 and Walden Residents, we tackled the removal of English Ivy, an invasive species that had been growing aggressively in some of our common areas. Together, we removed 347 cubic feet of ivy. We appreciate the help of all the Boy Scouts, and in particular, we thank Derek Phillips for leading us today!
And thanks to Kathryn for taking the above pictures (and for doing her share of ivy pulling)!
Walden Cluster hosted their annual Halloween Party, and a good time was had by all! The Party included a parade led by the Reston fire engine, face painting, and of course, treats!! Thanks to Jami and Jacinta for organizing.
Well, we didn’t actually see the Easter Bunny, but he left eggs filled with goodies for the children and friends of Walden Cluster!
